The Serengeti Safari Camp is a unique concept that offers discerning safari-goers a truly authentic tented experience of the very highest quality. The camp periodically moves location within the Serengeti according to game movement and weather patterns.
The camp is in the grand style of the traditional East African safaris of the early years. The "Selous" sleeping tents are eighteen by twelve feet and are eight feet high with spacious en suite bathrooms and are completed insect proof with netting windows and zip up flaps. They are beautifully appointed and decorated with local fabrics and artifacts. Each contains comfortable six foot, seven inch long beds, complete with high-density mattresses and duvets, blankets and linen, and have dressing tables, a safari wardrobe, luggage racks and safari chairs. Each has bright rechargeable lights as well as a number of traditional hurricane lams. At the front there is a large veranda with a table and safari chairs whilst at the back the en-suite bathroom incorporates hot and cold water, a short-drop toilet and traditional bucket shower. There is a complimentary daily laundry service - weather permitting!
The focus of the camp is a large dining tent with a shaded sitting area. There is a fully-stocked complimentary bar, complete with ice, and a small African reference library and board games. Gather around the campfire in the evenings to share your days' adventures with like-minded souls.
The cuisine is of the highest standard with innovative menus using freshly supplied fruit and vegetables, all served on fine china and glassware with picnics, buffets and barbeques offering variety. Three course candlelit dinners are served either in the dining tent or under the stars and complimented by South African wines and liqueurs.
